Concurrent Duo

Concurrent Duo, formed in 2024 by pianist Katherine Miller and percussionist Ignacio Corrales, is an emerging ensemble dedicated to premiering new works and reinterpreting the music of our time. Initially formed as a sub-group of Stony Brook University’s Contemporary Chamber Players, Concurrent Duo has performed extensively in Staller Center Recital Hall and the Long Island Area. Concurrent presented its New York City debut recital in November 2025, performing works by Phlippe Hurel, John Psathas, Eve Beglarian, Anna Thorvaldsdottir, Igor Santos and a world premiere by Conrad Foreman. Current activities include a commission for composer Owen Dodds, a performance at Rewind LIC’s Aperitono series, and participation as ensemble fellows at New Music on the Point this June. When not working with living composers on world premieres, Concurrent Duo is arranging well known 20th Century works for this new context. Concurrent’s aesthetic blends diverse influences from spectralism, to minimalism, post-minimalism and Renaissance styles to create a distinct Sonic identity.
